Progressed rising sign to Jupiter appeared at the same time I was unintentionally growing my body weight. I was on antidepressants, I was experiencing mystical symptoms from Lyme disease, preventing me from walking properly. Especially during the mornings. This went on for almost a year. Later, I met a man with seductive habits that I adopted. Almost 20 kilos (44 pounds) extra decorated especially my belly, chin, boobs and what have you, given my proud ownership of an apple-shaped body.
It took some time before I started slowly losing the extra fat again. I’m not claiming that progressed transits can alter you in this direction as a standalone. I had several transits triggering my indulgent sore spots in my natal chart in that very same period.
here’s what Jessica Lanyadoo teaches about Jupiter transits in general:
“Jupiter over the course of an almost 12-year period will form an aspect to every single planet in your birth chart—every planet, every point. And even when we go through, quote, difficult transits by Jupiter—the square, the opposition—it doesn’t tend to be like a bad thing.
The exception to this comes up when you have an excessive nature. When you have a substance abuse problem or any kind of addiction in general, Jupiter expands it. It makes you more restless and more inclined to dive headfirst into whatever your behaviour is. And so, in that way, Jupiter can be quite difficult. “
Do I need to mention my excessive nature in general? That I have used alcohol and weed within a problematic range, that I’m so addicted to caffeine that I drink it even though it gives me migraine attacks? Not to mention not being able to stop eating. Say hello to Taurus stellium, Leo rising and Pisces Moon and Jupiter/Mars conjunction in the first house. So no worries about your Jupiter transits. It all depends on the whole picture as astrologers keep banging on about.
I was just living unconsciously. I could have eaten less, done more pilates or focused my mind elsewhere than my habit-driving eating routines. But I didn’t, and Jupiter made me grow! Or so I thought. If I had focused this transit positively, I would have looked at the sign it was in: Virgo. I could have been living the high priestess, seeking healing herbs that would increase stomach acid, kill inflammation, build good pre and probiotics etc. But I didn’t! Instead, I fell in love with a VenusVirgo that ate junk food and I just completely permeated into his lifestyle.
So, turns out that blaming Jupiter for turning me into an apple shape was a bit off the mark. I totally missed my chance to take control! It’s not Jupiter’s fault. It’s like getting mad at a raincloud for getting soaked when you step out without an umbrella, even though you knew it was going to rain. The real deal was my own doing – just a result of me cruising through life on blind autopilot.
Back when my legs were being uncooperative – or let’s say not functional, and I was on antidepressants, I finally got back on my feet with healthy food – I just had too much of it. And then shortly after, I stumbled into a relationship with a guy who’s all about french fries and long movie nights with piles of chokolate. It was lazy days, overeating, and pure Jupitarian hedonism. Fast forward to today, and I’ve dropped half the weight, while the progressed rising sign is slowly separating from Jupiter and moving towards saturn. Life’s a funky dance, always throwing in a lesson or two about balance, it seems. I now really try to live and interpret the positive potential of upcoming big transits and see if I can put my preferred color into it.
